Day 1:

Arrival at Paro. Then Paro to Thimphu. Overnight in Thimphu.

On arrival at Paro airport, after immigration and custom formalities, your guide will receive you and transfer you to Thimphu(Altitude 2,280m) along the curvy Bhutanese highway and some sightseeing on the way, if time permits. Thimphu, perhaps the most unusual capital city in the world, is the seat of Government, home to Bhutan’s Royal family, the civil service and foreign missions with representation in Bhutan. It is also the Headquarters for a number of internationally funded development projects. After reaching Thimphu and settling in hotel, you will have the first taste of Bhutanese cuisine. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 2:

Thimphu sightseeing. 

After breakfast your guide will take you for sightseeing tour of this beautiful city. The city tour will cover Kuensel Phodrang(World’s largest statue of Sitting Buddha – 52m),National Chorten – which remembers the Father of Modern Bhutan, National Heritage Museum, Memorial Chorten, Tashicho Dzong - biggest Dzong(Fortress) in the country - also the seat of the office of the King of Bhutan, Taking Preserve Centre - Founded to protect and study the behaviour and the habitat of the animal -which is now endangered species, Handicraft emporium, Art & Craft School. Overnight stay at Thimphu.

Day 3:

Thimphu to Punakha via Dochu La Pass. 

After breakfast, we will proceed for Punakha/Wangdue through to Dochu La Pass from where one can see beautiful mountain ranges of Himalaya, if weather decides to cooperate.This pass is the primary conduit that connects the two points of Thimphu and Punakha. Moving ahead on the way to Punakha,we can take a short excursion trip to visit the Chhimi Lhakhang ‐ The Temple, also known as “The Temple of Fertility” which was built by Lama Drukpa Kuenley, “TheDevine Mad Man”.

In Punakha, we will visit Punakha Dzong ‐ built in 1637. The Dzong was named DrukPungthang orDechenPhodrang (Palace of Great Happiness). Punakha is still the winter residence of Je‐Khenpo- Religious Head of Bhutan. King Jigme DorjiWangchuck convened the first National Assembly here in 1952.Overnight halt at Punakha.

Day 4:

Punakha to Paro. 


After breakfast, we will start early for Paro. Paro encapsulates a rich culture, scenic beauty and hundreds of myths and legends. It is home to many of Bhutan’s oldest temples and monasteries, the country’s only airport and the National Museumwhich has a collection from natural history to religious paintings. 

In line with our Company philosophy, we shall strive to give you experience in which you will come in closer contact with the people from Bhutan and understand their lifestyle and family culture. This will turn out to be very informal and homely experience for you. There you may find a secret as to why Bhutan is the Happiest Country on earth!

After reaching Paro, you shall have an experience to cherish for a long time when a Bhutanese family treats you at their home with home food. It would be very interesting to see their life closely and chat with them.

In the afternoon, we shall Visit 17century Paro Dzong (Fortress) on foot and continue walking through the oldestwooden bridge still in use.A short scene of Bernardo Bertolucci's famous movie, "Little Buddha," was shot inside this Dzong.The next stop will be Kyichu Lhakhang. The Jowo Temple of Kyichu is one of the oldest templesin Bhutan, originally built in the 7th Century by the Tibetan Emperor SongtsenGampo. It is considered to be one of the 108 border taming temples he built. It is believed that Kichu Lhakhang was the place from where Buddhism first set foot in the country. Overnight at Paro.

Day 5:

Tiger's Nest monastery,  Sangachholing monastery.


We shall take a tour of this picturesque town of Paro. This will cover Base Camp of famous top-of-the-hill monastery known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’ Monastery. From distance you will be able to see Tiger’s Nest monastery literally hanging from the edge of a sheer rock cliff,

Sangachholingmonastery –another monastery which is also situated on the hill-top with approachable road, Bird’s eye view of airport, Drukgyel Dzongand Museum.

Mt. Jomolhari (7300m) reigns in white glory at the Northeren end of the valley, its glacial waters plunging through deep gorges to form the Pa Chu (Paro River). If weather is kind, you can have a glimpse of this sacred mountain. The Paro vaelly is one the Kingdom’s most fertile valleys, producing the bulk of Bhutan’s famous red rice from its terraced fields. Day 6: departure

Paro sightseeing and Good Bye Bhutan.

After breakfast, if time permits, the Group shall further explore this town of Paro and immerse in the culture of the town by selecting any of the following activities, if not already done - Having photo session by wearing Bhutanses dress (chargeable), playing dart and archery, cycling (chargeable), visiting vegetable markets and tourist markets.
As your flight time approaches we bid you goodbye and you leave us with sweet memories!
